Valuable Metals, Smartly Utilized

Many companies struggle with residual streams that contain valuable metals but are not utilized. This not only leads to higher costs but also increases environmental impact. Orbix provides a solution that minimizes waste and maximizes resource efficiency.

Our approach: Tailor-made circular solutions

With innovative technologies and customized solutions, we give residual streams a new life and strengthen the circular economy.

We put an end to waste

Our advanced technologies enable us to recover valuable metals from industrial residual streams such as metal slags, refractory materials, and bottom ashes. Even the smallest metal particles, down to the tips of ballpoint pens, are recovered and reused. This process not only reduces waste but also ensures the efficient use of raw materials.

What we do:

  • Analysis: We analyze residual streams to uncover their full potential.
  • Innovative processing: Metals are separated using advanced techniques and reused in high-quality products.
  • Application: Recovered materials find their way into various sectors, including the steel industry, construction sector, and more.

Applications of metal recovery

  • Refractory Bricks

Refractory materials, such as bricks from furnaces and crucibles, are demetallized and sorted by composition. These materials are reused as refractory bricks and mortars, or as soil improvers and alternatives to dolomite. Orbix is even capable of fully automating the separation and sorting process for reuse.

  • Metal Slags

Metal slags released during steel production still contain valuable metals that are recovered. These metals are reused in the steel industry for the production of new, high-quality stainless steel. The remaining mineral fractions are processed into various high-quality raw materials:

    • Stinox®: Used as granulate or sand material in road construction and the concrete industry.
    • Carbinox®: A raw material for Carbstone® bricks.
    • Fillinox®: Used as a filler in concrete, asphalt, and plastics industries.
  • Bottom Ashes

Recovery of metal residues from bottom ashes of household waste. The remaining mineral fraction can be used as granulate in the concrete industry or as a raw material for the carbonation process.

Non-ferrous briquettes: Smart resource utilization for efficient production

Reusing non-ferrous metal-containing residual streams? Orbix transforms these residual streams into compact yet powerful briquettes. This reduces waste and optimizes the efficient use of raw materials in various industrial processes.

Choosing non-ferrous briquettes is a smart investment in both cost savings and sustainability. By optimizing material consumption, companies can reduce raw material costs while simultaneously lowering their ecological footprint. These briquettes are an essential part of a circular economy, where efficiency and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
